These dinosaur math centers help kids to develop their counting and number recognition skills. The focus is on numbers 0 to 30, so they’re great for kids in Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten.
Number Math Centers
I’m so excited about these newly updated dinosaur math centers which now focus on numbers up to thirty! There are twelve hands-on number activities to choose from. Each number activity focuses on numbers up to 10, 20 or 30. So it’s really easy to differentiate learning if you have some kids working on different sets of numbers.
Preparation – Start by printing and laminating the resources for added durability. Next grab a few math manipulatives such as counting links, popsicle sticks and dinosaur counters.
How to Play – I’ve included an instruction card for each dinosaur math center. So please refer to those for more information.
Math Centers – Numbers 0 to 10
You can check out some of the dinosaur math centers below. I love the number puzzles for helping kids learn about subitizing (the ability to know how many there are at a glance, without having to count each object one by one). Another one of my favorite activities is the build a fence mats where kids can put numbered popsicle sticks in order.

Math Centers – Numbers 11 to 20
The math centers are all hands-on and easy to prep. I recently added some before and after write and wipe mats. With these, the kids can write the missing numbers with an erasable marker or make them with magnetic numbers. If you’re wondering what type of clothes pins I’ve used with these activities, they are mini wooden pegs. I found these in the craft section at Officeworks (Australia).

Math Centers – Numbers 21 to 30
I often get requests from people to create activities for numbers up to thirty. So I’m really happy that this pack now includes numbers up to thirty. These are great for kids who are proficient at working with numbers up to twenty and are ready to level up!

Dinosaur Counting Mats – 1 to 10
You may also like the following freebie which was part of my original dinosaur math centers pack. These dinosaur counting cards are great for helping kids to learn 1:1 correspondence when counting.
Preparation – Print and laminate the counting mats for added durability. Then grab some dinosaur counters.
How to Play – First read the number on the dinosaur egg. Then count that amount by placing one dinosaur on each circle. Once all of the circles have been covered, recount the dinosaurs to check the amount matches the number shown on the mat.
