These cute Easter writing crafts include an Easter bunny, chick, egg and basket! They’re perfect for kids in Pre-K, Preschool. Kindergarten, First Grade or Second Grade.
Easter Bunny Writing Crafts
What I LOVE about these Easter craft activities is the lines are thick, so they’re easy for kids to cut out. Plus, I’ve left the faces blank so the kids can create their own unique faces – which turns out super cute!
Preparation – Start by picking your preferred templates. Next you’ll just need to grab some paint, glue, scissors and writing pencils. It’s fun to provide kids with some collage materials too such as cotton wool, craft matchsticks, pom poms and googly eyes.
Craft How To – I started by painting the Easter bunny templates with acrylic paint and then allowed them to dry. Next I drew a face with a black permanent marker and some whiskers with an oil pastel. After that I glued on some collage materials such as cotton wool. I needed to use PVA glue to help the pom pom nose to stick. But a glue stick worked fine with the cotton wool. Finally, I cut out all the pieces and assembled them around the writing page.
Chick Writing Crafts
These Easter chicks are fun to use as a stand alone craft or writing activity. The “Super Chick” writing activity is a fun way for kids to engage in some imaginative writing.
Preparation – For this activity you’ll need some yellow and orange paint. I also added some collage materials such as yellow feathers, craft matchsticks and googly eyes. If you’d like the kids to create a background, you’ll also need some plain white paper, water color paints or edicol dye.
How To – First, I painted the chicks yellow and then painted a beak with orange paint. Next, I used watercolor paints to paint a sky and some grass on a separate piece of paper. Then I allowed them to dry. Once that was done I cut out the chick and pasted it on the background. Finally, I added the finishing touches such as the googly eyes. If you’re making a super chick, you’ll need to paste the cape to the back of the chick before pasting it on the background.
Easter Egg and Basket Writing Crafts
I’ve included a few different egg and basket templates. The plain egg template can be used with acrylic paint, collage materials or oil pastels teamed with water color paint (or edicol dye). The basket with the eggs is fun to do as a painting activity. I tried something different with the plain basket template and made a sun catcher!
Preparation – If you’d like to make an Easter basket sun catcher too, grab some colored cellophane, paint, scissors and clear contact.
Craft How To – Begin by painting the basket and allowing it to dry. Next cut out the basket, including the space below the handle. Meanwhile, stick some oval cellophane shapes onto some contact (cut to a size a little bit bigger than the space below the handle). Once you’ve arranged the eggs on the contact, stick it to the back side of the basket. Finally, secure it in place by sticking another piece of contact on the front of the basket.
