These apple time activities can be used as playdough mats or write and wipe mats. They help kids learn to tell the time to o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to.
Apple Time Playdough Mats
Preparation – Print and laminate the resources for added durability. Then place the time cards you want the kids to focus on in a basket. You’ll also need some playdough. I sometimes put things in a dry erase pocket sleeve to save on laminating costs. I ordered mine online from eBay.
How to Play – Kids need to choose a time card and place it near their mat. Next they need to roll the playdough to make the clock hands. They need a short roll of playdough for the hour hand and a long roll of playdough for the minute hand. Once the kids master one type of time such as o’clock, you can introduce a new time such as half-past.
Apple Time Write and Wipe Mats

How to Play – Kids need to choose a time card and place it near their mat. Then they need to draw a short line for the hour hand and a long line for the minute hand. Once the kids master one type of time such as half past, you can introduce a new time such as quarter-past.
