Hole Punch Activities
A while ago, I discovered that kids LOVE using highlighters and one hole punches! I myself love using highlighters, it must be all the vibrant colors. Anyway, I’ve created a fun set of hole punch cards. Each set varies slightly, but overall they all focus on letter recognition, letter formation and beginning sounds. You can learn more about these alphabet activities below.
Preparation – Begin by printing the punch cards on white or colored paper. Next cut out the punch cards (there are four per page). After that grab a highlighter and one hole punch. Now you’re all set!
Letter Recognition Activities
First name the letter and say the letter sound. Then trace the big letter with a highlighter. Next punch a hole through all the matching lowercase and uppercase letters. Continue playing with the other letter cards.

Beginning Sounds Activities
These letter cards are similar to the previous set. Start by naming the letter and saying the primary letter sound. Next trace the big letter with a highlighter. Then punch a hole through all the matching lowercase and uppercase letters. Finally punch a hole through all of the pictures that begin with that sound.

Alphabet Letter Punch Cards
These punch cards are a fun way to develop fine motor skills and are great for kids who like a challenge! The aim of this set is to punch the holes on the uppercase and lowercase letters. But in order to do this, the kids need to turn the cards so the hole punch can reach the holes. So they’ll punch some holes from the bottom, side or top of the card. They look really cute once finished!
